Getting to Hua Hin

The most convenient way to get to Hua Hin is by taxi. These are readily available at the airport or can be booked at most travel agents and hotels in Bangkok. The average journey time is approximately 3 hours.

There is also a regular train service running from Hualampong station. The journey time is approximately 4 hours.

Buses leave regularly from the Southern Bus Terminal, Sai Thai, Thonburi. Journey time is approximately 3 ½ hours. Minivans to Hua Hin can be found at Victory Monument and are a little bit quicker.

Hua Hin transportation and driving

Getting around Hua Hin is very easy. The best way to travel is either by motorbike taxi or by Tuk Tuk. Remember to negotiate the price before travelling. Alternatively you can hire a car or a motorbike. There are no metered taxis in town.

If you do hire a car or motorbike ensure that you have adequate insurance cover.

The Police in Hua Hin are very strict when it comes to enforcing the compulsory wearing of crash helmets – wear one if you want to avoid being stopped and fined, which could also include a trip to the Police Station.

In Thailand you drive on the left, but beware traffic turning left does not have to wait at junctions and tends to move out regardless of what is approaching. Also watch out for motorbikes driving on the wrong side of the road.
